Traffic

Retrieve a server's traffic statistics

GET/servers/{serverId}/traffic

Monthly traffic periods with bytes received and transmitted, the allowance in effect and whether the server was throttled.

Request

Authorization
Provide your bearer token in the Authorization header when making requests to protected resources.
Example: Authorization: Bearer ********************
Path Params#
serverIdinteger#required

A valid server ID as shown in VirtFusion.

Example: 69

object
dataobject#
fields
trafficBytesPerGbinteger#

The size of a traffic gigabyte in bytes, either 1000000000 for decimal or 1073741824 for binary. limit and blocks[].traffic are counts of gigabytes of this size, so multiply by it to compare them with rx, tx and total, which are already bytes. Operators choose the definition in the virtualization settings and decimal is the default. Added in 7.1.0.

monthlyarray[object]#
item fields
monthinteger#

The server's own billing period counter, not a calendar month. Period 1 begins on the day the server was created and each later one begins on the same day of the following month. Where a month is too short for that day, the period ends on its last day and the next begins on the first of the month after, so start and end identify a period rather than the number does.

startstring#

First second of the period, UTC.

endstring#

Last second of the period, UTC.

rxinteger#

Bytes received in the period.

txinteger#

Bytes transmitted in the period.

totalinteger#

Bytes received and transmitted. rx plus tx.

limitinteger#

The allowance for the period, as a count of gigabytes of trafficBytesPerGb bytes each. Multiply by trafficBytesPerGb before comparing it with total. 0 means unlimited. Purchased blocks are not included: add blocks[].traffic for the allowance actually in effect.

blocksarray[object]#

Traffic blocks purchased for the period, each adding to the allowance.

item fields
idinteger#
trafficinteger#

Gigabytes the block adds, in the same definition as limit.

Changes

  • 7.1.0Added data.trafficBytesPerGb, the size of a gigabyte the allowance figures in this response are counted in. Operators may now choose binary gigabytes in the virtualization settings; decimal remains the default.
  • 7.1.0BreakingTraffic is measured in decimal units: 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Allowances and usage figures are 7.4% higher in GB terms than the previous binary measurement.
