IP Blocks

Create an IP block

Since 7.1.0
POST/connectivity/ipblocks

Create an IPv4 or IPv6 block. name and type are enough; any field the update accepts can be sent too, so one call can create a configured, enabled block.

Request

Authorization
Provide your bearer token in the Authorization header when making requests to protected resources.
Example: Authorization: Bearer ********************
Body Paramsapplication/json#

The block. Uses the same field names and nesting as the block GET returns.

IPBlockCreate
namestring#
Length: 3 to 100 characters
enabledboolean#

Whether the block hands out addresses. An enabled IPv4 block needs a netmask; an enabled IPv6 block needs ipv6.subnet, ipv6.from and ipv6.to.

dhcpinteger#

1 when servers get their addresses by DHCP, 0 when they are configured statically. true and false are also accepted.

Allowed values:01
networkProfileinteger#

The network profile the block belongs to; 0 is any.

Range: 0 to 20
rdnsTypeinteger#

How reverse DNS is handled for the block's addresses. The words none, automatic and zone are also accepted on write.

ValueMeaning
0None
1Automatic
2From the reverse DNS zone in rdnsZoneId, which is then required
Allowed values:012
rdnsZoneIdinteger#nullable

The reverse DNS zone when rdnsType is 2; cleared otherwise.

routeBlockinteger#nullable

IPv6 blocks only. The route block whose networks are routed to the block's subnets, or null for none. Cannot change while subnets of this block are mapped into the current route block.

regenerateboolean#

With a change to ipv6.subnet, ipv6.from or ipv6.to, confirms that the generated subnets may be deleted. Not stored.

ipv4object#

IPv4 blocks only.

fields
gatewaystring#nullable
netmaskstring#nullable

A valid netmask such as 255.255.255.0. Required while the block is enabled.

resolversobject#
fields
primarystring#nullable
secondarystring#nullable
ipv6object#

IPv6 blocks only. The block is configured when subnet is set; from and to must then be set as well (a new block carries 48 and 64 until changed). Setting subnet to null clears the configuration.

fields
subnetstring#nullable

Any address inside the source prefix; stored as the prefix's first address. Null means the block is not configured.

frominteger#nullable

Prefix length of the source prefix. 48 on a new block.

Range: 26 to 128
tointeger#nullable

Prefix length of the subnets handed to servers; longer than from. 64 on a new block.

Range: 27 to 128
gatewaystring#nullable
resolversobject#
fields
primarystring#nullable
secondarystring#nullable
typeinteger#required

4 for an IPv4 block, 6 for an IPv6 block. Fixed once created.

Allowed values:46
